America Recycles Day
TRI Pointe Homes Joins the Nation on America Recycles Day
It’s all part of our commitment to the environment to recycle unused items that can be repurposed and put back to work. We even recycle waste at our construction home sites so that our building materials can go on to serve an added function.
You can join us by recycling your unwanted items too. This can include most glass and plastic items. But you can also conserve by being smart and re-using so many things you have sitting around the home, such as margarine tubs, aluminum foil, fabric, boxes and bags and even seasonal wrapping paper. Once all those items have been thoroughly used, toss them into the recycling bin.
You can avoid paper waste by writing on both sides of the page. Buy gently-used items, rather than new ones. Use cloth napkins and dishtowels in favor of paper ones. And if something around the house breaks – just fix it, rather than tossing it into the trash.
Look for beverage containers that are labeled with CRV (California Refund Value) and set them aside. You can exchange them for cash at a designated recycling center. Also, remember, non-CRV glass, metal and plastic containers are also accepted at most drop-off recycling locations. For more information regarding buyback for bottles and cans and a recycling center near you visit www.bottlesandcans.com.
By reducing, reusing and recycling items around your home, you can become part of a nationwide effort on November 15th to keep our planet lean and clean. Will you join us?
