Built For Kids to Just Be Kids
Tri Pointe Charlotte and trade partner Pace Development Group deliver a new playground for the Alexander Youth Network
On March 19, 2025, representatives of Tri Pointe Homes® Charlotte and the Pace Development Group unveiled a new playground, built for the Alexander Youth Network. The ribbon cutting ceremony touched the hearts of all in attendance and inspired numerous conversations to continue the partnership for future projects.
Chief Executive Officer of Alexander Youth Network, Brennon Graham, remarked on the project to begin the ribbon cutting ceremony. His statement was one that resonated with all in attendance and echoed the goal of both Tri Pointe Homes and the Pace Development Group in this project. This playground not only improves the quality of the Charlotte Campus overall, but most importantly, it allows kids to just be kids.
The Alexander Youth Network mission is to walk together with children struggling with serious emotional and behavioral problems. By providing quality professional treatment through an effective and efficient array of services, children and their families are enabled to exercise self-determination, achieve their potential, and become positive contributors to society. Since 1946, Alexander Youth Network has been providing care to children in Charlotte and beyond.
Since 2023, Tri Pointe Charlotte has worked congruously with Alexander Youth Network and has partnered on multiple projects including sponsoring a Thanksgiving meal in 2023 & 2024 and coordinating an Olympic themed field day. This project arose when members of the Tri Pointe Homes Compass Club toured the facilities. After noticing that the buildings were dated, the team felt there was so much they could help with. Lynn, President of Alexander Children’s Foundation, told the team that a playground was at the top of their list. They had one, but it did not meet the requirements, so they had to take it down. Curt Curtis with Tri Pointe Homes took the lead and coordinated with Pace to get the job done.
Once the ribbon was cut marking the official opening of the playground, Lynn asked the dozens of children in attendance if they liked their new playground. The children responded with a confident and resounding “yes!” and enthusiastically began to play. This simple display assured all teams that this project was truly Life-Changing by Design™.
