From Atwell’s location at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, the San Bernadino National Forest is just a short drive away. With 300 miles of trails, the national forest offers an abundance of options — dogs welcome on leash, of course.

Among them is Lake Gregory County Regional Park. It welcomes dogs on leash on its pine-covered trails, and it even has designated dog parks for large and small breeds. Or, spend a couple of nights at one of the campgrounds, like Barton Flats Family Campground, where you and your pup can savor the scents, sounds and scenery of nature.
