If dad’s idea of a perfect day is one spent outdoors, surprise him with a day riding the trails on a UTV. Head to Perris, just about 30 minutes from home, to pick up your rental and trail maps.
If you’re looking for even more adrenaline, book a group lesson for the family at SLMX Motocross School in Riverside. Three-hour sessions are geared to all ages and rider experience. Dirt bike rentals are also available.
For a slower ride, consider a half-day guided horseback tour exploring high desert trails through Joshua Tree National Park with Knob Hill Ranch. Or head to Susie Q Ranch in Murrieta, about 40 minutes from Atwell.

For dads who love a good glass of vino, Atwell is the place to be. Why not plan a winery tour curated especially for him? You can find award-winning vineyards in almost every direction. With its many options, Temecula makes a great home base for a day of sipping. There, you can schedule tours and tastings of local varietals at Frangipani, Doffo and Foot Path wineries, to name a few.
Or plan your own custom wine tasting right in your own Atwell backyard! Add a spread of local cheeses — or better yet, make it a wine and fondue party. What better setting to enjoy your beautiful surroundings with the people and things dad loves.
