As a people-first company, Tri Pointe Homes® takes pride in our dedication to social responsibility. In addition to creating life-changing designs for our homes, we have committed to being just as life-changing in our focus on employee wellness along with giving back to our communities. Making a difference in people’s lives extends far beyond a single activity or event—it is a part of our company culture, and we’ve gone as far as to offer volunteer paid time off for our team members to make a difference in their local communities. Here are a few examples of how Tri Pointe Homes has made, and will continue to make, a difference.

Pointes of Wellness

A company-wide initiative, called Pointes of Wellness, includes activities around the 8 pillars of wellness. The program kicked off with a six-week exercise challenge for Tri Pointe Homes team members. The challenge, Step Away, had participants set goals to complete a certain number of steps each week. The exercise program was not only designed to increase energy and focus, but also to improve mood. In addition to boosting our team members’ health and wellness, Tri Pointe partnered with HomeAid, a non-profit whose purpose is to improve or expand housing and resources for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Over the six-week challenge, each participant walked an average of 217,122 steps and we raised $20,000 for HomeAid.

Working with HomeAid

The $20,000 we raised will be used to provide all of the furnishings in the Inspire Home for Girls in Denver, Colorado. The home allows adolescent girls who seek emancipation a place to live. The residents receive life-skills training and individualized and group mental health counseling. In Austin, Texas, Tri Pointe Homes is helping fund a tiny house for the second year in a row, which is part of a community developed to lift individuals out of homelessness and provide a shelter for them.

The season of giving

As we approach the holidays, Tri Pointe Homes Las Vegas is participating in the 100 Days to Christmas toy drive, an initiative where the company is reaching out to its team members, trade partners and homeowners for donations of bicycles and toys. Kliff Andrews, Division President of Tri Pointe Homes Las Vegas, tells us they have already rounded up more than 100 bicycles and more than 300 toys. They started the effort in September, but as Andrews says, "It's never too early to start spreading holiday cheer."

Positive effects

Whether it’s a bicycle for a child or a safe home for someone in need, these efforts not only help the recipients, but they also define the strong character of Tri Pointe Homes, our team members, and what we stand for. Furthermore, participating in a charitable act often leads to feeling happier. So, Tri Pointe Homes’ charitable giving is a win-win for the company, the community, and everyone involved.
