Irresistible Living in Poulsbo
Live Local
Just a short ferry ride from Downtown Seattle, the small Viking town of Poulsbo feels like a world apart. With its Scandinavian street names, marina bobbing with boats, and views of the Olympics, this hidden gem is off the radar for many Seattleites.
When Brian and Amy Lee were ready to buy a home and leave northeast Seattle, they had no idea they would find everything they were looking for in Poulsbo.
“We wanted a beautiful home that was a good investment, in a great place to raise a family,” Brian says. “We didn’t know we’d find that across the water.”

Once they visited a colleague’s home in one of Tri Pointes' Poulsbo communities, they were hooked. “The 9-foot ceilings, the stylish chef’s kitchen with granite slab countertops, the luxurious five-piece master bath suite – there’s so much to love about these homes,” Brian said.
The small-town family feel hit the spot. “I can look out my kitchen window while I make dinner and see my son playing with the neighborhood kids in the park behind our house,” Brian says. “You can’t get that just anywhere.”
Quality was also top-of-mind for the Lees. “We toured quite a few homes and neighborhoods, and the finishes and quality of Tri Pointe's homes were a step above other builders,” Brian said. In choosing features and finishes, they wanted to ensure a solid investment. “It was important to not be too trendy,” Amy said. “We wanted finishes that were going to last, finishes that we wouldn’t have to replace in five to ten years.” They decided on features like subway tile backsplash and laminated floors that add color neutrality and class.
Both Brian and Amy now commute by ferry to Seattle. “I was worried about it at first,” says Brian. “But a boat ride with a relaxing sunset view of the Olympics sure beats being stuck on I-5. Amy calls it ‘the romance of the ferry,’ and I can see what she means. I definitely have never had a commute with 360-degree views, where you can have a beer with friends on the ride home.”
