For working mom Misty Waite, the planned community of Rancho Mission Viejo is a magical place to raise kids, and it’s convenient for the busy parent.

In the last seven years, Waite has rented a home in the Village of Sendero, the first village developed on The Ranch. She loves the beauty of the area, the sun and the beaches of Orange County, California. The close-knit, rustic feel of The Ranch offered community pools, community farms and accessibility to parks and schools for a cherished way of life.

When she began her new home search, she hoped to find a place similar to the house she was renting, and that it would be located in Rancho Mission Viejo. She never expected that buying her first home in the new Village of Rienda would be an option.

“It’s a miracle I got this home! It was exactly what I wanted. I just can’t believe everything lined up,” Waite said. “My daughter is ecstatic; the day we signed the papers we brought two little jars and filled them with the dirt where our house is being built. We look at it every day knowing soon this will be our home.”

Rancho Mission Viejo Offers Charm and Convenience

Waite chose a paired home in the Paisley neighborhood at the Village of Rienda. The neighborhood's charming homes feature Farmhouse, Spanish, and Prairie architectural styles with open-concept kitchens, flexible first-floor spaces, and front yards.

For Waite, who has watched the community of Rancho Mission Viejo blossom over the years, the Village of Rienda may just be the most beautiful neighborhood, surrounded by scenic and natural beauty adjacent to Cow Camp, offering natural trails that allow her to go running in her own backyard. The fact that the lapping waves of the beaches in Dana Point are just a short distance away is also a big plus.

Everything she could ever want is just outside the front door, which makes life much easier for the busy mom who works from home.

“Rancho Mission Viejo is literally a playground,” Waite says with a laugh. “They have everything and anything you can think of. There’s a coffee shop, community farms, and even event spaces where residents can have a party or a small intimate wedding.”

Waite also mentions the new Village of Rienda’s Ranch Camp, which boasts a 20,000-square-foot swimming pool, Ranch Cove.

“I can’t even accurately describe how big and beautiful this pool is with its stunning canyon views. At Ranch Camp, there is a BBQ area, picnic tables and an onsite gym. I cancelled my gym membership because I don’t need one. Everything my daughter and I could need or want is right here,” added Waite.
