Party at Pennant Square
Celebrating the opening of the community space
At Pennant Square, fun is always just outside your doorstep. In addition to walkability to the West Avenue Social District in revitalized downtown Kannapolis, neighbors now have a brand-new community space. The Pennant Square Woonerf officially opened April 12 during a ribbon-cutting event with the Mayor of Kannapolis, Darrell Hinnant, Tri Pointe Homes representatives and current and future homeowners.
What is a Woonerf?
The Woonerf is a “living street” featuring a covered picnic area, cornhole boards, putting green and overhead lights that line a charming streetscape with pavers, planter boxes and plenty of benches for all to enjoy.
To celebrate the grand opening, Tri Pointe Homes hosted a local food truck, Patty and the Dogs, to serve residents dinner and desserts. Neighbors also competed in a cornhole tournament on the new boards and every homeowner received a set of custom bags. A DJ kept the party going with music until sunset.
Pennant Square features a total of 120 townhomes in the heart of downtown Kannapolis. Homes start in the $300s and with less than 25 homes remaining, construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. The development was part of a shared vision between the City of Kannapolis and Tri Pointe Homes to bring modern, affordable urban living to downtown Kannapolis. It has been extremely popular since opening in late 2021; in fact, in 2022 it was the top selling community for Tri Pointe Homes’ Charlotte Division.
The community is open to tour Thursday through Monday. Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled on the community web page atwww.tripointehomes.com/nc/charlotte/pennant-square/or by calling704.931.5545.
