Cathy Johnson Trail
If mountain biking is your thing, Cathy Johnson is your trail. This 4.2-mile path, situated in the South Hogback Open Space just west of Chatfield Reservoir, accommodates a wide range of skill levels and takes just under two hours to complete. Not a cycler? No problem. The trail is also great for hikers and joggers, and furry friends are welcome on a leash (don’t forget to pack extra water for your pooch).


The Clement Park Lake Trail
Prefer paved, lit trails? Look no further than the Clement Park Lake Trail, which loops around the Johnson Reservoir. While this trail is in suburban western Littleton, there’s still plenty of nature to soak in on this hike – like the 60-acre lake and Robert F. Clement Park. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch!
The Mary Carter Greenway Trail Roost
It’s easy to explore the south Denver vicinity via the area’s many connected trails – like the ever-popular Mary Carter Greenway Trail, also known as the Arapahoe Greenway. A top choice for walking and biking, Mary Carter Greenway Trail runs along the South Platte River, promising picturesque views from every direction. Best of all, if you’re an ambitious outdoor enthusiast, you can bike all the way from your front door in Sterling Ranch to Downtown Denver on this trail. Chatfield’s Dog Off-Leash Area
Fido will love Chatfield’s Dog Off-Leash Area, a 69-acre fenced open space featuring two ponds and miles of walking trails.
