Young Family Finds Their Dream at Atwell

Jennifer and Joshua McDonough wanted to give their four boys their dream home. They found it at Atwell.

The McDonoughs had longed for a place that their family could truly call home. They envisioned a community away from the congestion and crowds of the city, where their boys would have easy access to the great outdoors and where they could make new friendships that will last a lifetime. If those asks weren’t a tall enough order, they also wanted a location with an easy commute to Joshua’s work.

Different from everything else.

The McDonoughs zeroed in on the Beaumont/Banning area for its convenient location, but became increasingly disheartened as nothing they toured piqued their interest. They began to wonder if their dream home would ever be possible.

“Since it was the pandemic and in-person tours weren’t possible, the 3D video tours really helped give us a good idea of what the community and homes were like,” said Joshua. “We could see the creek that runs through the areas, the topography, the mountain views. Creating a sense of place was paramount to the McDonoughs. That was important to us and drew us in. Once we saw Atwell in person, we were sold; we knew this was it.”

Dream community, dream home.

They wasted no time getting the home building process underway. “We immediately got on the waiting list, picked our lot and would have been happy with any beautiful home here,” she said. “But, as it turns out, we got our dream home on the exact lot we wanted.”

It has everything their large family needs. “We have a dedicated home office so we didn’t have to sacrifice a bedroom. We have dedicated space for our children’s home-schooling supplies. And, we love the giant kitchen and pantry,” Jennifer said. “The bonus is a huge yard where our family can enjoy the outdoors together.”

Coming home to Atwell.

A year into their new home, the McDonoughs still marvel at their good fortune. “We wake up every morning and are so grateful to be living here,” said Joshua. “The neighbors are friendly, the community is very family centered and the HOA puts on lots of family-friendly events.”

“There’s so much here to take in, and yet so much more to explore. We are all in this community together and it is the best feeling to be a part of that.”
